yeah I’ll keep looking and see if there’s any way i can get the date from the cloud service
try doing it either way MAYBE it is conserved somewhere
ah shoot I should’ve thought of that, I took the file off of the laptop but have since wiped it, the file I currently has just says it was created and modified when I downloaded it from the cloud service I used to transfer the files so I don’t think that works unfortunately
and also do you have the authentic file maybe if you use some tools (idk wich one could be helpful, try right click and "proprieties") you could find the date and maybe more valuable infos

well, the song was obviously created closer to 2008 because in 2003-2004 the sound quality in the songs was worse than I hear here

in general, I will leave a link to the topic under one such video with this music there are still people who want to find it and maybe if we assemble a large group we can find the original

perhaps this sound was recorded by Viktor Antonov (game designer valv), he just lived in Bulgaria, which was in a post-Soviet state in the 90s and 2000

By the way, it reminds us of our post-Soviet rock style

Well, at the moment that's all we have:it could be my bloody Valentine, I could just miss either the melody or a moment in the melody, the original cannot be younger than 2002 and most likely it was created in the 90s and recorded from the TV after which it was edited, namely slowed down and also muted

this is not a typical sound for the valve at all, yes, there were a lot of strange sounds in the beta, but this is the strangest of them, and it is in an even stranger place for him

if anything, I'm sorry for my English, I have to communicate through a translator.

specifically, the idea appeared back in 1998, but there were no maps, no plot as such, except for the basics, I think that this music was recorded from a TV from some clip, and with a raised tone it seems very familiar to me, I even remember one moment from the clip.In any case, the fastest way is to separate memories that have merged into one since I was not born in the 90s and I do not live in the USA

I right clicked and checked the properties of the file, and yep, under the "Media" section it lists the year as 2002. It's definitely possible that there could be an earlier instance of this sample however, as development for half-life 2 began in mid-1999, as well as the fact that the original sample could've been taken from a sound/music library. There's also the possibility that theme1_loop could've also been a soundtrack that was created by Valve themselves and cut short to use as a loop, however that's something I can't know for sure unless I asked someone at Valve directly.

and the original, whatever it was, should have existed no later than 2002, since the map, namely one of the versions of e3_terminal, is used in the "clock" and plays between their ticks, if memory serves me right

well, in any case, the sound was edited and we can't know how different it is from the "original"

and so I increased the tone and speed and it turned out that in this passage there is a flute or something similar to it.I set the tone to 6 and the speed of sound to 2, also in the collection of ambient half life 2 beta, there was a comment under the video with a timecode for this sound and it said "my bloody valentine" nevertheless, I found only slightly similar songs in their albums

After skimming through all 130-ish samples twice over, unfortunately nothing seemed to match up.

Think it may be a sample from Zero-G "Ghost in the Machine". You might be able to find something there
