"In the mid 1980s, my dad had a blank cassette tape he used for recording. One of the songs on it went like "Rain rain go away. You don't belong here anyway." (Different from the traditional Rain Rain Go Away lyrics.) I remember my dad saying it was a Brian Wilson demo recording, but I've searched Google and can't find anything. Maybe my mind is playing tricks and I'm misremembering that fact. I don't know. In my mind, the song was sparse- definitely a vocal, and maybe one instrument and one percussion instrument. I uploaded a clip of me humming how the verse and chorus sounded. Does anyone know what this is? Thank you."

    Matter of opinion. Post-punk - itself an over-broad, nondescript term - and Jangle pop in the 80s overlapped so much they were practically the same thing.
    If The Chills, Felt and Aztec Camera are in this list this list

    and this unknown clip is at least in the neighborhood, Jangle Pop is close enough for me.
